42. James O'Kelly was born on 21 June 1786 in Mecklenburg Co, VA.²¹ He appeared in the census on 7 August 1820 in Oglethorpe Co, GA.⁶⁷ He died on 20 December 1852 in WALTON CO GA.²¹

It is likely James was named after Rev James O'Kelley who was living in Mecklenburg at the time of his birth and was a famous O'Kelley.  I suspect this is the reason some descendants of Dr Francis C O'Kelley and Dr Thomas K O'Kelley hold a belief that James was the name of our ancestor and he was Rev James.  Webmaster comment.
